Our Mission The parents, staff, and community of Crestview Elementary accept the challenge of developing our students to become lifelong learners by striving for personal and academic excellence, encouraging positive choices, setting realistic goals and building respect for others.

Our Goals

Leadership and Decision-Making - Establishing a team structure with specific duties and time for instructional planning.

42 A Leadership Team consisting of the principal, teachers who lead the Instructional Teams, and other key professional staff meets regularly (twice a month or more for an hour each meeting).

Curriculum, Assessment, and Instructional Planning - Engaging teachers in differentiating and aligning learning activities.

97 Instructional Teams develop materials for their standards-aligned learning activities and share the materials among themselves.

Classroom Instruction - Expecting and monitoring sound instruction in a variety of modes - Teacher-Directed Whole-Class or Small Group Instruction - Teacher-Student Interaction.

134 All teachers encourage students to paraphrase, summarize, and relate.

Parent, School, and Community - Communication - Providing multiple methods of two-way, school-home communication.

1570 The school regularly communicates with parents (families) about the importance of the curriculum of the home (parent responsibilities and what they can do at home to support their children's learning).

Leadership and Decision-Making - Aligning classroom observations with evaluation criteria and professional development.

2880 The school provides all staff high quality, ongoing, job-embedded, and differentiated professional development.

Tiered Support - Screening, Planning for Interventions, Implementing, and Monitoring in a Tiered System.

3410 The school implements a system-wide monitoring process (such as practiced in Kansas MTSS) that utilizes collaborative instructional teams who meet regularly to review student data from screening, progress monitoring, and outcome assessment to identify next steps for instruction for students across all tiers.
